When we (my family, Bryan, and I) were in Seoul the other weekend, we all took a super cool Gandala up to the N Seoul Tower. (fact: The N stands for Namsan...not North, like I accidently keep saying) The 360 degree views from the observation floor at the top of the tower were incredible. It was a little overcast when we were up there, but it was still very impressive. I have said it before, and I will say it again: Seoul is HUGE. You literally see nothing but high-rises for miles and miles until they run up against a mountain or a body of water. It really puts a new meaning to the term"Concrete Jungle"...
These were some 'look out' towers up on the mountain. Confession: It took both Bryan and Adam hoisting me up to get me inside of that little nook...
Nothing says "I love you" like a padlock.
Thousands..or millions.. of couples have come to N Seoul Tower to romantically declare their love for one another by 'locking up their love' to the fences around N Seoul Tower (and on Christmas trees during the holidays). This way, their love is official, and will last forever, and ever, and ever. (side note: Bryan and I did not have a padlock during this visit, but I am def going to sneak one up there for us next time we go...mmwwaaahahaha)
The observation floor also has this cool feature of listing major cities around the world and how far away they are (in kilometers) from N Seoul Tower. It was a fun way to think globally, but also stung a bit when it registered how far away we rrrrreally are...
kilometers, shmilometers, right?!?
I am so excited because we actually get to go back to Seoul a week from today! Bryan's BFF Steve is coming to Busan Friday night (wooohoooo!), and then we will all be going up to Seoul (via train, score.) to ring in the Lunar New Year! I can't wait to explore more of the city!
Do any of you readers have recommendations for Seoul? Restaurants, bars, museums?
Holler if ya dooo!
love yall!
Amy
